February and winter with it are ending. Hot Thai summer with temperatures rising over 40°C is fast approaching and at Next Step Thailand we came up with a solution to fight the heat.

What could be better than a day trip with canoeing and a visit to Sticky waterfall? It’s a perfect plan for a fresh and fun summer day!

We offer this trip from now through May and recommend it to everyone in need of refreshment over the summer.

Summer day trip to Mae Taeng with canoeing and visit to Sticky waterfall

Here is the itinerary we prepared for this adventurous summer day trip:

We pick you up at 8:30 AM and take you for a drive to Mae Taeng river. The drive takes about two hours, so we start canoeing around 11 AM when we are all set and ready for the adventure. Canoeing down the Mae Taeng river with its curves, rapids and rocks is a great adventure indeed! But don’t worry as we provide all the safety equipment and each canoe comes with a local instructor who knows the river by heart and guides you safely all the way.

At about 1 PM we’re back on the shore and it’s time for a Thai lunch and a break.

After lunch we drive for around one hour to Sticky waterfall on the way to Chiang Mai. Sticky waterfall is a well kept local secret, favorite among Thais but virtually unknown to the visitors. The water cascades over the porous limestone, the surface of the limestone has an almost sticky feel that creates great traction with skin. As a result, you can walk down the falls as if there were no water at all!

Our trip finishes when we get back to Chiang Mai around 5 or 6 PM, refreshed and pleasantly exhausted from all the adventures of the day.
