It’s the beginning of June and with it the beginning of the rainy season in northern Thailand. First rains have brought a welcome relief from the heat of the previous months, the countryside is getting more lush and green with every passing day, farmers are already hard at work preparing rice paddies for planting, and the waterways are quickly filling up with water.
This is a great time to explore the countryside of northern Thailand and for the more adventurous visitors, this is the perfect season to enjoy a number of exciting water sports.

Rainy season is the best time for water sports in northern Thailand.

This Monday, all Next Step Thailand and Spicy Villa staff gathered at the Wang river in Mae Wang area near Chiang Mai for a yearly canoeing and river tubing training. We inspected and repaired all equipment, cleared the river and brushed up on our knowledge of safety and water sports. Along the way, we also had loads of fun as you can see in the gallery below.

Thus, the canoeing and river tubing season of 2016 has officially begun on the Wang river. We would like to invite all our guests to join us on river adventures. If you’d like to add canoeing, river tubing, or both to your tour, let us know when you make a booking and we will include these activities to your booked tour. We can add canoeing and river tubing to all tours in Mae Wang area and to all multiple-day tours to Doi Inthanon National Park.
